The Directorate for Regulatory Standards Setting and Information Delivery (RSSID) is one of the eight technical directorates established in the Authority to contribute for achievement of the vision and mission of the Authority. The directorate has three technical teams under its umbrella. These are:
The RSSID directorate is responsible for development and dissemination of regulatory standards, development and dissemination of regulatory information on health and health related products & services, health professionals, health and health related institutions. It is also responsible for prevention and control of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances abuse, promotion of rational use of medicines, prevention and containment of antimicrobials resistance, collection, detection, assessment, monitoring, and prevention of adverse effect of medicines (pharmacovigilance), development and revision of national medicines formulary, national standards treatment guidelines, national medicines list and essential medicines list including categorized medicines lists.

The Directorate is staffed with competent employees with different professional mix namely; medical practitioners, pharmacists, food technologists, nurses, environmental health professionals, public health professionals, psychologist, information technologists and other supportive staff members.
